The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an action RPG developed and published by Bethesda. It is the fifth release in The Elder Scrolls series. It is set about 200 years after the events of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and before The Elder Scrolls Online. Skyrim was released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and some year after, the DLC Dragonborn, Heartfire and Dawnward were available to download.
This time, you will have to defeat Alduin the Dragon, which is predestined to destroy the world as we know it. As an RPG, you will have to develop your skills and complete missions. However, unlike the previous titles, it is not necessary to choose a class when you start playing. The open-world mechanics are maintained so you will be able to explore the map to your heart's desire and complete the missions when you want. You are not forced to do the main missions one after the other, but you can perform side missions and other things you want, whenever you want.
You can choose between playing with a third-person perspective or a first-person one. At the graphic level, the game is stunning. Now, everything is more realistic, with unique settings that offer dramatic views throughout your adventure. Bethesda has used Havok Behavior for the animations of Skyrim. People you will find in your way will not be static; they perform their daily tasks, they react to your character, and they can even talk with you.
When you start playing this game, you have to create your character. You can choose different races such as humans or elves, amongst others. You can decide almost every aspect of the appearance of your avatar, from the eye color to his or her constitution. Once you have created your avatar, you will have to develop him or her (or it). Skills must be trained. There are 18 skills divided into three schools: Magic, Stealth and Combat. You can improve your abilities when your experience points reach the required minimum, and you level up. When this occurs, you get perks, and you can use them to improve the skill you select.
This time, you will have to defeat Alduin the Dragon, which is predestined to destroy the world as we know it
Your character will have three different attributes: Health, Stamina and Magicka. The Health is what its name indicates, the level of health that you have. Stamina determines the use of ranged and melée attacks and the ability to sprint. Once it runs out, you cannot perform those activities for a while. Finally, Magicka is in charge of controlling magic attacks and spells. As with Stamina, it can run out.
As mentioned before, your quest consists of finding and defeating Alduin the Dragon, what means that, in Skyrim, there are legendary creatures. Not only dragons, but also mammoths, sabre-toothed cats, trolls, or even the undead can appear in your path. However, dragons are the most dangerous creature you can find. They are not easy to defeat. They will use their breath attacks, throwing fire to destroy you. However, they can also land and fight you in a melée attack. Anyway, don't worry, there are things you can use to defeat them, but you must discover them while playing.
